Also also, this Kate Spade Gold Coast Margot in black may well be my next purchase. Will keep y’all posted!

(Friday) Free for all…Gloomy SF Day Outfit

Morning all! So so happy that it is Friday. Woke up at 6 something, just because. I never do that, as I enjoy my sleep very much. But here I am, so I thought I would post some pics of a outfit from a couple weeks ago when it was windy and drizzling outside-the tail end of a long wet storm we had in SF. I had just gotten back from my friend’s fabu store in St.Helena, Steed Fine Hoarding & Tack , where I purchased the amazing vintage Austrian hat w/ a Scottish pin I’m wearing.

(Wednesday) Wearable...Outfit of the Day!

Check out my outfit from today on dailybooth! Happy hump day :)

(Wednesday) Wearable…Pink Glitterama

As you know, Michelle and I are both OBSESSED with glitter nail polish. And we both have several colors from the OPI Burlesque collection. Now that the snobbery has worn of, I’ve ventured into other brands that carry glitter polish. And although I <3 <3 <3 my gold glittery OPI “Bring on the Bling!”, it was time to try a color other than gold!

While waiting for my prescription one day at the drugstore, I came across this funtastical pink glitter from Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear called “Rock Star Pink”. It looked great, but I didn’t know what the coverage would be like. Would it need 1 coat like the OPI glitters, or 3 coats b/c it’s not OPI?! And while I was picking up this pink glittery wonderfulness, I also fell in love with Nicole by OPI “You’re an Angel” which is this yummy summer pink with golden orange flakes. To. Die. For.

I’m really happy with how it came out, you can see the pics below. it took 3 coats of the “You’re an Angel” and 2 coats of “Rock Star Pink” to get this look.

Sometimes you just have to embrace you 10 year old, teeny boppin’, wanna-be-a-rock-star self! Long live the girlie girl inside us all :)

(Friday) Free for all…China Glaze Crackle Polish!

Hello all! TGIFF!! Glad I made it through this week and into wine country this weekend! Anyhoo, as I’m sure you’ve heard, the much anticipated crackle polishes have finally hit the market in 2011. I purchased the China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Cracked Concrete (what an original name..) The process for using a crackle polish:

Step 1) Apply two coats of a base color. You can get creative on a color combo here.

Step 2) Quickly apply the crackle polish. I say quickly because the polish crackles almost immediately, so you won’t have time to go over it again like you would with a regular polish.

Step 3) Wait to dry and apply a top coat.

For my little experiment I used Sinful Colors- Forget Now 321 as my basecoat color, then went over it with the Cracked Concrete color. Basically a hot pink/grey combo, which I thought would be fun :)

You can see the pics below. In hindsight, this is a fun look, but super trendy, and I feel like in 10 years I’m going to look back on this post and say to myself ” Self, what the HELL were you thinking?!” Also, as much as I love a grey and hot pink combo, I think it would be even better to do a combo say redish/blueish which from far away would look purple, but up close reveals the cool crackle finish. Since I am stuck with this grey crackle color, maybe next time I will do a silver sparkle, or just black as the base color. It was definitely an experience, but for now I think I will stick with my glitter nails!
